Image Gallery 1

The primary aim of this homepage is to provide images and information regarding the founder of all Christian Brothers, Blessed Edmund Rice. These can be used to further develop an understanding of his life and legacy. By no means is this homepage complete - it will be added to continously and aims to provide material to students, teachers and all those interested in the history of such a great contributor to the poor and needy of our world. Please feel free to copy and use the material presented to you so that others may share the charism of Blessed Edmund. At the same time, if you have any suggestions, additions or recommendations, please E-mail me with them - pjacobs@carmen.murdoch.edu.au

I am looking forward to your feedback!

I would like to thank the Provincal Leader and all members of the Holy Spirit Province of Australia who have supported me and provided me with a wonderful opportunity to investigate Edmund Rice and ultimately create this homepage. I also acknowledge the support of the Headmaster of Aquinas College - Brother Kevin Paull and the Head of the Senior School - Mr David McFadden. I would particularly like to thank Brother Peter Hardiman, who I worked with so closely as we travelled through Ireland together in search of relevant information to be included here. Peter's friendship, love and understanding of Edmund's vision reflects clearly onto the people who he meets. A special thanks must go to a very special Christian Brother.....Brother Brian Clery. This man lives God and follows the shadows of Blessed Edmund where ever he goes. Brian inspired me to create this homepage and to keep on task. To my assistants, Bradley Ward, Michael Singe and Joel Knox, your expertise and advice is much appreciated and to all others who believed that this project would work - my heartfelt thanks.

Thank you all, and God Bless!

In 1988 he celebrated his first solo exhibtion, Frames of Mind and Merriment, which included works spanning 22 years of his life. In 1994 Paul held two exhibitions which emphasised his new direction towards a reductive process for creating visual objects. In 1993 Paul was commissioned to draw the University Of Notre Dame Australia. 1998 saw Paul's pilgrimage to Ireland and the construction of this Homepage honouring Edmund Rice - founder of the Chrisitian Brothers. In the year 2000, Paul will return to Ireland to complete a series of drawings celebrating Edmund's contribution to God and humanity.
